Volunteers from the world of work take part in Careers Seminar at IT Tallaght

Chamber of Commerce Employees Volunteer at Colaiste de hIde

On the 6th of December  sixth year students from Colaiste de hIde took a break from their books and studying to attend a very informative Career Networking event with employees from the American Chamber of Commerce and South Dublin Chamber of Commerce. A similar event was undertaken with fourth year students on December 14th with more staff from the American Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce employees come from a range of careers including  CEO’s, Financial Controller, Policy Officer, Public Affairs Director, Communications Officer, Events and Membership Administer , Programmes Administrator and an internship staff member. Thanks to CEO Mark Redmond from the American Chamber of Commerce and all the staff who made both these events possible and  to Peter Byrne, CEO of South Dublin Chamber of Commerce, for volunteering. Special thanks to the school principal Deiric Mac an Bhaird and all the teachers who facilitated the event and made everyone feel so welcome.

Volunteers Descend on Deansrath Community College

On November 23rd  fourth and fifth year students from Deansrath Community College in Clondalkin Dublin 22 participated in a Career Speed Networking event. Kevin Sammon the Director of Global Corporate Communications at IDA Ireland, Peter Keegan CEO of Bank Of America Merill Lynch, Pat Byrne Tus Supervisor from South Dublin County Partnership, David Warner a Production Manager and Keith Purvis an Operational Excellence Manager from Takeda Pharmaceutical alongside Misha Paraschivu a Network Engineer from Google all took time out of their busy schedules to spend the morning sharing their career story, educational routes and nuggets of advice with the students. Thanks to the Principal and teachers, in particular Ms Joan White, Guidance Councillor in Deansrath Community College for hosting the event.
