[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Terrence MacGoff an Engineering Director from Google, describes his experience of volunteering at an Inspiring the Future event: “Volunteers coming into a school can help young people to make better informed decisions about their futures and the value of education.  Simply telling a personal story can have a huge impact on a young person’s aspirations and help them to understand what they can achieve.  But this isn’t a one way street – time and again, volunteers speak of the inspiration they draw from the young people they meet. It is very rewarding to be involved and I’d encourage volunteers to register on the inspiringthefuture.ie website”.
Gwen Barry from Bank of America Merrill Lynch also enjoyed the experience: “The event was very good and very well organised. The students were very engaged in the whole process. They were very keen to find out what the volunteers did and what their jobs were. They were willing to listen to what we had to say and they asked plenty of questions.”

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]An Tánaiste and Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Frances Fitzgerald TD, has welcomed the introduction of Inspiring the Future Ireland. She has describes how her  ” focus as Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation is to ensure that we continue to create an environment in which business can succeed and create jobs, including those for our young people. Programmes such as Inspiring the Future play an important role in helping break the cycle of youth unemployment by increasing the chances of young people remaining in education and succeeding in life. I look forward to seeing this initiative expand to schools throughout Ireland in the coming years”. [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The inaugural Inspiring the Future Ireland Career Speed Networking event took place on the 12th and 22nd of September in Collinstown Park Community College in Clondalkin, the first school in Ireland to avail of this new initiative. Volunteers from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Google and Takeda Pharmaceutical were present on the day to chat with fourth year students about their job and to answer any questions that they had. Inspiring the Future Ireland was officially launched on the 21st of September 2017 in the historical and beautiful location of the National Gallery of Ireland. A variety of representatives were in attendance from Corporate Businesses, Government, Schools, Chamber of Commerce and Not for Profit organisations. Guest speakers on the evening included

• Frances Fitzgerald T.D: Tánaiste, Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation
• Nick Chambers: CEO Education and Employers UK
• Jennifer Taylor: Compliance and Operational Risk Executive, Bank of America Merrill Lynch
• John O Malley: 4th Year Year Head Collinstown Park Community College
• Denis Browne:EU Regional Data Centre Lead Google

The inspiringthefuture.ie website is now live. Volunteers can pledge their involvement in the project and give one hour of their time a year to inspire young people in a school near where they work or live by registering on the website. Schools can also register their interest and request volunteers through the website.

This short clip showcases the launch event and captures some of the atmosphere, enthusiasm and fantastic networking opportunity which was present in the room at the launch event. We hope that all who attended had an enjoyable, worthwhile experience. We are excited to start the Inspiring the Future Ireland pilot  project in South County Dublin
